Do you offer any discounts for off days / times / seasons?
No. We accept a limited number of commissions per year and work just as hard at a Wednesday morning wedding in the winter as we do at a Saturday evening wedding in the spring.
Can our guests take photos with their cameras?
Absolutely! Your guests can take photos with their cameras all day long with the exception of the time set aside for bride and groom photos and wedding party photos. That is simply to limit distractions during often limited time periods when we need to have everyone’s full attention.
Can I give you a must have shot list?
Essentially, no. A “must have” shot list with somewhere near one hundred bullet points reminding us to photograph things like the cake cutting, the first dance and the first kiss is really not necessary. Trust us…we’ve got that covered! And walking around the whole day checking bullet points off of a long list will surely make us miss some really great moments of your day. We have tried working from lists like these a couple of times, and have found that it simply does not work for us. It does not feel authentic for us and it really hinders our ability to deliver the kind of photos you see displayed on our website. Similarly, while Pinterest may be fabulous for gathering all kinds of interesting ideas for wedding decor and fashion, we are not interested in copying another photographer’s work via pinboards of “must have” photos.
What about family photos?
We absolutely take family photos and for these, a list from you is required. We suggest allowing for three minutes per family formal photo, and we also suggest keeping your list of family photos to a minimum.
How many images will we receive?
That is a very difficult question to answer as it varies widely from wedding to wedding. It is highly dependent on number of hours of coverage and the amount of “action” there is to photograph throughout the day. However, having said that, we tend to deliver between 500 – 1200 images from a wedding. And actually it is technically double that number as we do deliver every photo in both color and black + white.
What is required to hold the date?
A signed contract along with a 50% retainer is required to secure your date. The remainder is due two weeks prior to the wedding date.
We are ready to book! What is the booking process like?
We try to make it as simple as possible! We will send you a link to an online contract. You can review it, sign it, and pay the retainer online.
What is your style?
The easiest way to understand our style is to browse through the galleries on our website and scroll through our blog…there are a ton of photos there!! If we were to try to describe our style, we would say it has a documentary flair with an editorial finish. We like to shoot the entire wedding day in a photojournalistic fashion with the exception of the time set aside for portraits of the bride + groom, wedding party, and family. And of course we also focus on capturing all of the details from dress to shoes to reception tablescapes and everything in between. We like to capture all of the events and moments as they unfold naturally, and will not have you stop and look at the camera while you are getting your dress on, or while you are cutting the cake, or during your first dance, etc. Similarly, we will not ask your guests to stop and look at the camera while they are dancing or socializing, or at any other point during the wedding. We strongly believe in allowing you and all of your guests to enjoy the wedding day to its fullest with us being as unobtrusive as possible.
When should we book?
As soon as possible. Some dates are booked more than a year in advance.
Do you travel?
Yes! We are available for travel all over Florida and worldwide.
Do you bring back-up equipment?
Absolutely! We use all professional grade Nikon equipment and of course always have extensive backup equipment with us.
Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely! And we can provide proof of insurance should your venue require it.
